These two crazy cats met during Grande Prairie Live Theatres musical production of CATS in 2012. I was also part of the cast, as Bombalurina, so we were over the moon when Jess + John asked Chris and I to photograph their wedding ceremony at GPLT and the reception at the Montrose Cultural Centre.
After the ceremony we took family formals just outside of theatre, in the rain. When the skies cleared up we captured some wonderful portraits of Jess + John in Muskoseepi Park, where all of nature’s colours were rich from the recent showers.
With John being from Australia, many friends and family travelled across the world for their special day. Jessica + John thoughtfully greeted everyone when they arrived at the reception. The evening was full of laughter, dancing and fun photobooth pictures, one of which is a group photo of the CATS cast and production team. This charming and wonderful night had many of the CATS cast break out into Zumba. Zumba at a wedding? Absolutely! Without a doubt, this was probably one of the most meaningful zumba dances to have ever occurred, because throughout rehearsals and before every CATS show, Patty would lead us in a Zumba warmup so we were as nimble as could be for the production.
