We were lucky enough to be camping at Saskatoon Island Provincial Park with some good friends during the outrageously amazing aurora display this past Friday. I was content to lay on my back for the bulk of it, simply enjoying the dancing patterns of these ionized particles. Sometimes putting a camera in front of your face means you don’t actually see and enjoy what’s right in front of you.
But as the night wore on, after everyone else went to bed, I walked to the car and grabbed my tripod for a few shots down by the water. These shots are from end of the fourth wave of lights that night. The third was by far the most spectacular. At its peak, they were the most dynamically moving northern lights I’ve seen.
Cheers,
Chris
